CARF International announced that we have been accredited for a period of three years for our organizational governance and for the Attendant Services program. This is our first accreditation with CARF and we were awarded top level recognition. We proved our commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.
We were accredited by Imagine Canada for excellence in non-profit accountability, transparency and governance. Only 209 of 80,000 charities are officially accredited. We have displayed governance and compliance in five key areas: Board and Governance, Finance Accountability and Transparency, Fundraising, Staff Management and Volunteer Involvement. This process has been a worthwhile endeavor to strengthen stakeholder confidence in our organization. As well, accreditation ensures that our staff, volunteers and donors can rely on best practices to follow while making a positive difference in the community.
A new, customized case management system, Efforts to Outcomes , delivers enhanced ease of use, improved process efficiency and compliance, as well as superior tools for reporting. We are expanding the use of this system to other areas of the organization such as volunteer management, incident management and archiving to ensure we optimize our return on investment.
We improved the efficiency of our month-end processing, reducing the number of days required to close our financial statements from eight work days to five work days, allowing a more timely release of our financial statements to stakeholders.We shared our knowledge and experience at multiple external events:
